Women from the Outdoor and Trail Running Community Come Together for International Women's Day
Yesterday, as a part of International Women’s Day, For Wild Places hosted an online summit drawing together a range of empowered, motivated and inspiring women from across the outdoor and trail running communities.
The speakers who shared their experiences, represented some of the many women dedicating time, energy and passion into being outstanding advocates for social justice, the environment and equal rights.
Speakers included Lucy Bartholomew, Lydia O’Donnell, Pacha Light, Mel Urie and Sarah Sheridan.

Topics ranged from starting an environmental organisation, to leading social and
environmental change, holistic training for women and courageously pursing epic goals.
This event was a proactive step in sustaining an open dialogue in our communities, working towards a sustainable, positive and empowered future for all.
Vicki Adams, a founding volunteer of Outdoors People for Climate Action, took part in the Making a Movement Panel with Hillary McAllister, a cofounder at For Wild Places, and Belinda Baggs, a co-founder of Surfers for Climate.
Outdoors People for Climate Action would like to extend a big thank you to the women at For Wild Places for organising this important event and to everyone who participated.
